In May of 2005, Blair Koch became one of the few females to purchase a franchise in The Alternative Board (TAB). While the move was a bold one, her impressive career with companies like IBM, General Motors, Electronic Data Systems — as well as first hand immersion into the booming world of startups — provided a wealth of experience to help other business owners grow, scale and eventually sell their companies.
Ultimately, Blair chose to purchase a TAB franchise because she:
- Loves business. Blair thinks it is fun and knows that there is always a solution to every business predicament.
- Is passionate about the success of small to mid-sized businesses. Her mantra: “If I can help get Main Street healthy, then the rest will take care of itself.”
- Was tired of corporate politics and roadblocks to getting stuff done. Bottom line — she knew there was a better way.
- Is driven by giving back to the local community. Helping small and medium-size businesses thrive creates satisfying work and a booming economy for the community.
In August, Blair brought on respected business executive and consultant Bob Dodge, Jr. as a co-owner in the business. Bringing in Bob was an exceptional business decision on Blair’s part, as it expanded on TAB Denver West’s already established gravitas and allowed Blair to scale the business with not one, but two experts building TAB boards and providing private one-on-one coaching. And TAB Denver West was a great fit for Bob, as he had long been gifted and passionate about facilitating, coaching and business development.
In 2010 and 2011, TAB Denver West was the fastest growing franchise in the TAB system (and remains to this day as one of the organization’s leaders in Member Acquisition and Total Number of Members while continuing to provide exceptional value to CEOs, Presidents and Business Owners).
TAB Denver West started its BizSense with TAB Denver West™ quarterly event series, bringing in experts to discuss a wide range of topics important to our Members, including economic forecasts, leadership, emotional intelligence, mental health in the workplace, exit planning and more.
TAB Denver West became certified with Target Training International (TTI) – a talent management assessment company. These assessments are smart tools that allow companies to achieve success through a better understanding of their people.
TAB rolled out Business Builder’s Blueprint — a powerful, cloud-based online tool that helps business owners collect and view all critical business information in one place.
TAB Denver West partnered with SevenStar HR to provide our TAB members the tools they need to hire great talent, retain their best employees and ensure compliance from an HR perspective.
On July 30, 2019 Blair was certified to deliver the StratPro Business Transformation Process – an established process for improving the performance of a business. StratPro has been developed by applying over 20 years of experience working with over 25,000 businesses throughout the world.
